Shri Koshy Mammen graduated in Mechanical Engineering from the college of Engineering Trivandrum in 1976 and he obtained his MBA in 1994. He was the DGM and Range Operations Director of Thumba Equatorial Rocket Launching Station before his retirement. He retired from VSSC in November 2014 after serving ISRO for 38 years. He joined VSSC in SLV Project under His Excellency Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam and after the successful launch of SLV, he setup the Aerospace mechanisms facility at Valiamala and then worked  in GSLV project as Project Manager and  was instrumental for the outstanding success for the first two GSLV missions and worked as the Launch Campaign Manager. He then worked in Space Capsule Recovery Experiment Project as Dy Project Director and was the Recovery Team Leader and recovered the satellite in 2007. He then worked as the Range Operations Director of Thumba Equitorial Rocket Launching Station before taking up the present assignment.

He was an Executive committee member of the Trivandrum Management Association and worked as a Director Board Member in the Trivandrum YMCA. He is a life member of the Aeronautical Society of India and Society for Manufacturing Engineers. He is a member of the Trivandrum officers club and founder president of IGNOU Management forum as well as Space Engineers Welfare Society. He is presently the Vice President of the Society and is a Director, Finance and the Vice-Principal of Sarabhai Institute of Science and Technology. Cash award was given to given to him by the President of India for the successful completion of SRE Project and Sooryagrahan programme.
